Lia: she'll pick up rocks and shells and want to dig around with trucks any day of the week. We've got rocks in windowsills all over the house. But give her a twirly dress and she can't resist a good spin!

Nicolas: he can't keep his eyes off the American Flag we put up over the weekend. Also, big boy status in the stroller makes this mama feel all the feelings.

THE WEEKLY

So, our days were full of laundry and dishes and cleaning up poop. I mean, I got pooped on this week which just re-confirmed just how awesome I knew my life was. It's good stuff, you guys. But, I realized I didn't document any of that. Maybe it's because catching my girl watch the trash trucks or baby thighs just look better. Or maybe because I literally have anxiety over our Disney trip (because, that's totally normal) and the "other" stuff was just done to get done and I never considered it part of life the past few days.

Which I get sounds crazy, probably. But it's our first week of Summer and my mind is on a mad dash to prep for vacation.

Other mentionables this week:
I got pooped on. Literally. But I said that, right?
We escaped to the beach a couple nights ago for a little magic.
Nico is brushing up on his Houdini skills and the Bumbo has nothing on him.
There was the 5-day weekend bliss.
And, L ordered new glasses!

Here's to the weekend!

There's so many smart and funny and good things on the Internet. Here's just a few!

B.J. Novak reads his hilarious book to children.

A new J. Crew collection...designed by a five year old!

The season three Orange is the New Black trailer is out!

The Worrier's Guide to Life.

This take on parenting gets a thumbs-up.

Pretty excited about this book.

Also, pretty excited for this spin-off.

Not your typical yearbook quote. I'm a fan!

And, another amazing five year old!

I'll be busy going slightly crazy packing us all up for Disney this weekend but I hope you can enjoy these, xo!

Eating... fresh watermelon.

Packing for... Disney! We're down to seven days.

Dreaming of... warm, adventure filled days in New York City this summer.

Waiting for... new glasses! Both Lia and I ordered pairs this week and we're both excited. I chose a favorite Warby Parker style and she's sticking with her current style in a bright blue!

Reading... old blog posts. I am forever behind and haven't picked up a real book in weeks.

Pinning... this fun toy and striped walls (because I can't ever stop).

Impatiently waiting... for the new seasons of Scandal and Orange is the New Black to hit Netflix!

Busy... mothering and taking care of our home. It's an exhausting busy but one I wouldn't trade for the world.

Pining over... this bowl.

Wearing... a favorite striped dress and all the slouchy boyfriend tees.

Thankful... for nights full of sleep. It's not every night, but man when that babe sleeps, it's amazing.

Please feel free to link up any of your "currently" posts in the comments, xo!

BEACH BABES

May 20, 2015

Since my sister was visiting last week, we couldn't not spend an afternoon at the beach. It was cloudy and gray but we all got a little sunshine and salty air.

It was Nico's first time at the beach and I think it's safe to say he's a fan. He ate, he snoozed, he squished his toes in the sand.

Lia made a big hole to hang out in, worked on her sand castle skills and made a few sand angels.

And then Rita's, because, of course.

EIGHT YEARS

May 19, 2015

Eight years ago today, we promised to love each other forever and a day.

Three states.
Four towns.
Six houses.
Three pregancies.
One miscarriage.
Two sweet, happy babies.
Two dogs.
Five years as a military family.
Hours and hours spent traveling.
Countless fights.
Even more love.
Lots of house projects he hated.
Lots of house projects he did anyway.
Loads and loads of laundry.
Too many dinners to count.
Eight years worth of hopes and dreams and plans and laughs and happiness wrapped up in our marriage.

Manny,
You. Sometimes, I don't even know how to say how I feel. I have never loved someone that has the power to make me feel like the most loved person in the world and still annoy the crap out of me. That's our marriage. That's just us. You are my best friend and I can not imagine life without you. You make me laugh and you make me happy and you make me feel beautiful. I'm pretty sure we're going to have a lot more anniversaries ahead of us. And hopefully another cute baby (or two...)! I love this life of ours.

Happy Anniversary babe. Here's to you, xo. I love you!

FOUR MONTHS

Four months...

Is all about those hands. Drool is a fashion statement over here.
And someone found his toes!
Is filled with giggles and googly eyes for his sister.
Is for sleepsacks. It was a sad day when our burrito babe was no more.
Weighs around 13 lbs and the chub on those legs gets me every single time.
Still rocking the 0-3 clothes and size 1 diapers.
Fights nap time like a champ but gives us 8-10 hours every night.
Which means, he gets all the heart eyes.
Loves family walks.
And being outside.
Flails around in the bath like a fish out of water.
Still dealing with that cradle cap and those rosy cheeks.
Pulls hair like it's his job.
Eats 6 ounces pretty often.
Trying hard to roll over.
And is still squishy and sweet.

This buttercup brightens our days, for sure.

Lia: spent the afternoon riding ponies and feeding a deer. Capturing her belly laughs when they licked her was the highlight of my day.

Nicolas: was just happy to be in daddy's arms outside.

THE WEEKLY

May 15, 2015

So my sister spent this week with us while M's been out of town for business. And somehow the week flew by but still left me feeling drained from a long week.

There was lots of sunshine and walks around the neighborhood and ice cream stops and a trip to the beach and a little shopping. Lia pretty much made her play the entire time.

Our girl made the newspaper when she went to a fancy tea party at a local book store. And, I came pretty close to crying when she brought home her school journal this week with countless drawings. Her sweet teacher dated each one and jotted down whatever it was L had said she drew. Pictures of friends, our family, rainbows and tornados and planets, a space alien and a black sunshine. It's the best, really.

Little man is becoming himself again. Besides being a drool monster who can't stop eating his hands, he's sleeping around 10 hours a night and catching a nap here and there in his crib.

A bright and happy week around here!
