You know it's going to be a interesting few hours when you get to the waiting room at the hospital and all you hear is "girl this is f**kin bull****,  i came hours early and they said first come first serve but i'm still f**kin sitting here waiting. girl, when i pee it burns like pins and needles. and girl, i only started having the urge to move my bowels 5 days ago - the surgery was a week & 1/2 ago. and girl, i can tell a full 2 minutes beforehand that i have to pass gas because it hurts so bad feelin like pins and needles."

And she was talking way too loudly for a small waiting room full of people.

Okay. For real, girl. Keep your personals PERSONAL! If you're having that many issues, i suggest you have this very inappropiate conversation with your doctor, not the entire waiting room. Thank goodness my daughter is only 3 weeks old. Not only would i not want her hearing your nasty potty mouth but i also don't want her learning all about your potty business. Not to mention those horrible manners of yours.

This lady had obviously just had a c-section. If she can't be a mature adult, how can she take care of a child? It's not my place to judge so i sincerely hope the only childish manner she has is how she acted in the waiting room.

Then there was the lady whose toddler started choking on a snack and the lady sitting beside her started laughing. Really?! You're going to laugh. The toddler was okay, but laughing?

And of course, we have the people who think that the waiting room is actually a karaoke bar in disguise. Let's all sing worse than the worst American Idol auditon in a very loud tone or just blare our music of choice on our cell phones. Yes, we all want to hear this for hours. Thanks for entertaining me, i really was dying of boredom.

You really never know whats going to happen in that hospital.

So other than that disturbing wating room saga, i had a very klutz meet mommy brain kind of afternoon. First off, todays the first day i took Lia out on my own. I manged to leave early enough to stop by the shop and get my makeup bag from M. I, of course, forgot it in his car yesterday. I'm feelin' pretty proud of myself for remembering everything but that and being ready early. I get to the shop and crap! I  realize i left the cash for parking on the windowsill at home. Now, this may not seem like a big deal until you'd have to drag a baby and her carseat out of the car to run all the way into the grocery store just for an atm. And no, obviously, we don't have a convienent drive-thru atm around here. That would just be way to simple. Luckily, M had more cash for me, so problem solved. Off to the hopsital we go. We make into the parking lot and i've pulled out the stroller and about to get Lia out when i look down. Bad news, everyone. Kristy is wearing flip flops. Even worse news, everyone. Flip flops dont match the scarf and winter coat Kristy is wearing. So i get to pay $2 for seven minutes of parking and drive back home for my shoes that i forgot and make myself  late for my appointment. Then there is the classic trip over the doorstep and attempt to catch yourself on the door mishap.

Lets hope the rest of the day improves for the sake of L having a sane mama.

Oh, and if anyone could send me an organization fairy - it would be much appreciated. A whirlwhind of new baby, two furkids, and learning how to be new parents as well as hubby/wife has left the Villa residence looking like a disaster.

I'm off to tend to my gorgeous baby girl. Today, nothing will do except mama's arms. And a bottle now that i've seen the time.

That the military is not so, erhm, considerate (if thats the word to use) of their marines and their families.

Hence the text i just recieved from my hubbs who was at work today (it's a holiday, incase some people are at ditz as me and can easily forget that). You'd think i'd have all the 96s written on the calendar, in pencil of course. Ha! I don't have any written down, nor do i ever remember them. And i also don't write in pencil. I just scratch out :) But it's kind of fun not writing the 96 on the calendar because when the weekend rolls around and i'm fully expecting M to go back to work on monday morning, it's such a great suprise to find out we get an extra day off!

Anways, back to the aforementioned text:

M: XO just came in here and said i need a favor. I reply, what's that sir? He goes i want you and your car to be out of this lot by 10:15. I said roger that.
K: Woohoo! I love the XO!
M: LOL

My hubbs now has the day off instead of being the lone guy at the shop.
I'm super excited - now i can start picking up the house for the umpteenth time. For some reason, i work way better when people are around. When it's just me, L and the furkids i tend to be a bum in my pjs all day and will maybe get one teeny little thing done. Its a horrible habit i should really learn to break. Any tips?

I am now a very happy gal who will have a neat-looking house by the end of the day!

I am blogging from my super new super cute netbook! It's so little and stinkin adorable. It arrived in the mail earlier today. My lovely husband thought that a netbook was just what i needed so i could blog from anywhere in the house and on the go. Wasn't that sweet?! Why yes, it was.

Today is a very happy mail day for the Villa household! First, my netbook arrives. And then, my box from Germany arrives. This brings big smiles to my face.

Age: 2 weeks 1 day

Today is my first day alone with Lia! Manny went back to work this morning after my doc appt. Me and baby girl are on our own now :)

Baby girl sleeps all day, apart from feedings/diaper changes/and the random few minutes of alertness she gets. When it comes to night though - it's not so easy. Lucky for me, my Parents magazine came in the mail yesterday and it had an article on sleeping and sleep routines. We tryed one of the tips last night and it worked awesomely (if that's a word?!)! Basically we put Lia to bed around 6:30 pm when i noticed she was snoozing on the sofa. I wrapped her in her snuggleme and layed her in bed. Big suprise to us - we didn't hear a peep until around 9:30 for her feeding! She ate, got a diaper change, and went straight back to bed until about 2:30ish when i had to wake her for her feeding. After that feeding, she was a little fussy, but once i rocked her to sleep for a few minutes, back to bed she went. She slept until 6 am :) So from now on, baby girl has a bedtime of 5-7 pm. Maybe mommy and daddy will get sleep after all ;)

So, i had my wound check appt today. It went well - my incision is closed, but the doc said it looked a little red so she put me on antibiotics for a week. I have to go back next week to check the wound again, and then in a couple weeks for my postpartum. Our calendar has never seen so many doctor appts in one month in our lives. Between peds appts, clinic appts for me, dentist appts for both of us, we will be investing a lot of hours in waiting rooms! Oh, and a side note - i've lost 26 lbs since birth! I'm am so stinkin happy about that. It's a little nerve wracking to blog about my weight, but it's only gonna get better and i'm pretty sure noone but my family and close friends read this so what the heck. I'm now officially right under 200 lbs! Even though i really haven't done anything to lose the weight, having a baby seems to make it drop off, it inspires me to continue losing it. Once i'm all healed and have the a-okay to start working out. Manny and i have discussed starting a gym together, we just have to work out details like which gym and where little miss lia will stay at while we're working out. We'll figure something out. I just know i want my body to look way better than it did pre-pregnancy.

I'm adjusting to momhood a little better. The house is still a mess and i've only managed to do one load of laundry since i came home from the hospital but we're getting baby routines down. Lucky for me, i have an amazing husband who has managed to do alot more around the house than i have. He's a saint and i'm forever grateful for him! She's a pretty easy baby (woo-hoo for us!). And i learned last night that if i go to bed no later than 10 pm, it doesn't suck so bad to be up for 2 am feedings! I know...everyone says "sleep when the baby sleeps". But if you're a person who NEVER takes naps unless your sick and you feel the need to put away laundry or catch up on your blogging while the baby naps peacefully, it's very hard to get out of that routine. But i shall try - because this momma needs her sleep :)

Speaking of naps - while baby girl is still snoozing, i'm going to *try* to get some zzz's in myself!

P.S. if you haven't watched Julie & Julia, you should!

Oh, so big!

Lia is growing so fast! It's only been 13 days since baby girl made our lives 1000% more amazing and she's getting so big. At birth, she weighed in at 6 lbs 11.4 oz. Last thursday, she weighed in at 6 lbs 14 oz (mind you, she left the hospital only weighing 6 lbs 5 oz) and today she weighed in at 7 lbs 4 oz! It's going by so fast already. She's growing more into her looks too and finally starting to fit into her clothes a little better. I'm thrilled she's growing so well but it's bittersweet knowing the first moments are going by so fast. I love how she cuddles on my chest just like she did in the womb. I'm not ready for her to outgrow that.

Manny and i are on our own now, taking care of our family. My mom stayed for about 2 weeks, including labor and delivery time. Her help was very much appreciated! It was so nice not to worry about little things like dishes and laundry and cooking. But now, it's time for us to start our lives back. So far, things are going smoothly. We work together very well :)

Okay, so sorry for the lack of posting and then small posts, but i'm still trying to get my feet back on the ground with day to day life and juggling being a mom and wife. More posts will come soon!

There's something so inspiring about the new years. It's a time for a fresh start, for second chances. Granted, we could all just stop and restart any day of the year but something seems more promising about the first of the year. It makes me want to make a huge to-do list for the year!

And there is no better way to start off a new year than with a new baby! After 4 days of hard though not always active labor, Lia Alexyss Villa was born via c-section on Dec 29 at 5:08 pm. She weighed in at a whopping "too small for her clothes" 6 lbs 11.4 oz and 19 in. Coming from me, who was nearly 10 lbs when i was born, i expected a butterball.

I couldn't be happier with my daughter ♥ She's beautiful, amazing, such a good baby. Sometimes i just stare at her wondering how i got so lucky. I can't wait to see who she grows up to be. And on the other hand, i don't want her to grow out of this awesome "it's a huddle-cuddle kind of day" stage.

While i was re-doing my blog (i can't seem to settle on the look that is just right), i had so much flying through my head that i was planning to blog on but now it all seems to have flown out. Which works out because baby girl should be waking up soon for a feeding and a changing. Then hopefully, she'll sleep in her crib.
