with our new house, i've slowed down my design process so that i can think about what it is that i actually like. i'm trying to bring in only what we really love and use. and since we need to stay on a budget, i've taken to checking out some local thrift stores. nothing makes me happier than an amazing item with a happy price tag.
most of this was thrifted from a local shop. the itty bitty teeny weeny pink ruffled bikini was a fun find through a local moms facebook group where we re-sell all of our kids items. kind of like an online yard sale! guys, it was $1. like brand new. and looks SO adorable on L. we're both craving a beach day now. and some of the books were picked up from a super cheap sale at our local library. they always have tables of books for sale. most books are $1 or under (some as low as .5 cents!).
so i am slowly putting together lia's big girl room and a plate wall for our breakfast room/area. its kind of an awkward room with nothing but a table, play kitchen and it's oddly spaced out.
it's exciting to see the house come together and know i picked each piece out thoughtfully.
ps. i love picking up creamer dishes like the white one above. i don't drink coffee so i don't actually use them for creamer or milk, but they work perfect for pens, pencils, crayons & makeup brushes!
That is some seriously good finds, ahhhh i love thrifting, its true you get such a high when you find something you like with an awesome price. Great finds!
ReplyDeletei love thrifting too! it makes me so happy knowing for less than $5 i can always walk out with at least something i'll love for my home.
