Winter is pretty mild here! No snow days or freezing weather forces us to stay in. But, we do take advantage of the colder days that we do get. I love nothing more than spending a weekend afternoon on the sofa reading. It doesn't happen often. Most of my reading is done in the car waiting in school lines! We still squeeze in lots of reading time though and here's a few great choices to cozy up with on a cold, winter day.

Books are a favorite around here! On a good week, I can go through at least one book. And the kids? They pretty much sleep with piles of them. We'll hear a loud thump in the middle of the night and 90% of the time it's just a book falling out of one of their beds! 

Since I already share books that I love, I thought I'd create a seasonal series for kids. Most of these will be books we already love with a few new ones that we'll be adding to our library list to discover. Because if there's one thing we really, really love (besides books, of course!)? It's our public library and their really great lending system!

Valentine's Day is in a week! My girl excitedly reminded me of this yesterday morning on the way to school and now my head is full of all things love and hearts and pink and red.

My go-to gift for my babes, for any holiday, is a good book. It's a real struggle to walk out of a bookstore without buying something. Which is why we're the biggest fans of public libraries!

i was always the kid whose nose was stuck in a book. i love reading. i love libraries. i love quaint little bookstores. i just love books. so naturally i wanted to instill the same love of books in lia.

she's got quite the collection of books. some from my childhood, most thrifted or picked up off clearance racks in book stores. and we go to the library at least once a week, sometimes more. we always leave with a giant stack of books that we read every night at bedtime.
