It's Sunday, it's summer, it's a holiday weekend! We're visiting family in North Carolina this weekend. Some we haven't seen since before covid, so we're all excited for some fun and family time. We aren't doing many big things this summer (besides preparing for babe coming this Fall!), so we've soaking up the fun excitement of a road trip and a mini vacation in between finding our summer routine. How's summer going for you?

And here's a few things from around the web this week...

Adding these oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to my search for the perfect cookies!

Baked Potato Bar! Perfect for summer weekends.

A great (and really handy, right now!) post on family road trip hacks.

Summer burger mix. We had burgers at a local place last week that made a similar mix for their patties and they were so good!

Cute Fourth of July inspired shorts I grabbed for Nico.

So many good pieces in the new Justina Blakeney line x Target

Happy Fourth of July, friends!

What a weekend! We spent time with friends, watched In The Heights (so good!), and did a little plant shopping. We're mentally preparing for the last week of school before summer break. It's bittersweet to wrap up Nico's kindergarten year and Lia's elementary school stage, but we're all excited for a couple of months of fun and sun before routines and life shakes back up.

And here's a few things from around the web this week...

I take thee, Rachel. Who else has been reliving their love of Friend's lately?

In other TV news, Gossip Girl is back!

A gorgeous home tour in Mexico City. Its giving me all the cozy, fresh design vibes.

Potato salad for the summer.

Pots with staircases for bugs! How charming even though bugs kind of freak me out.

I've decided I need to find THE perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe to have tucked away for rainy days or last minute dessert plans for a BBQ with friends (not that this happened to me recently... ha). These are going on my to-try list!

And, the most perfect print we're putting in the nursery.

Enjoy the week, friends!

Happy weekend! We are off on a fun little trip with the kids. We're meeting their grandma and aunts at Great Wolf Lodge and I know they'll be so surprised and happy! Since school lets out late this year, we're in the stage where we know the final days are coming but we're dragging every morning to get to school on time. A long weekend is just what we all need!

And here's a few things from around the web...

The ever wonderful Summer Bucket List by Kelle Hampton is up!

A post full of gorgeous gardens. Give me a blanket and a good book and I'm set!

Grilled chicken wings I think we'll try this summer.

And, I just finished this book and I absolutely loved it. I'll be bringing this one on our weekend vacation.

Have a happy weekend full of summer vibes!

Happy Sunday, you guys! For the first time in months, I felt okay enough to meal plan and do an actual grocery haul. I think the kids were the most excited to see all their favorites stuffed amongst the bags. Here's to being able to stick through the plan and not decide that I'm too nauseous for it right before it's dinner time.

Saving this color-inspired nature hunt for a summer day when boredom strikes.

A Hocus Pocus sequel? Give me all the Bette Midler as Winifred, please!

Favorite feel-good songs from 90s and 2000s movies - a playlist I'll be blasting while I clean up the house this week.

It's in the mid-80s today and feeling so hot already. I think we're going to take a dip in the pool before tucking into a greek chicken dish my sweet friend meal-prepped for us. Here's to a fresh new week!

Our washing machine broke this week and it just felt so crushing for a day or two. But, it led to a family day at the laudromat and a stop for donuts & ice cream, and new memories made. It reminded me to focus on the good and the bright and the joy. Between being utterly exhausted with this pregnancy and trying so hard to keep up, it's easy to feel like I'm drowning in the midst of life. In the end, we fixed the washing machine together, as a couple, tackling something we had no idea what to do - the internet is a great thing some days.

So, here's my Sunday edition. It's full of the happy and the bright and the joy I've found online this week. They are crammed into the corners of my mind and my social media presence and I save them and collect them between the other joy-filled ordinary moments of life.

The cutest DIY wrapping paper.

How to paint a faux-tile doorstep. I need to figure out where I can do this in our house!

A new salad recipe to try for the summer.

We recently finished watching the entire Big Bang Theory series and I stumbled across this photoshoot that Jim Parsons did and I almost can't believe that it's Sheldon Cooper!

I've been following Ashley & Dino start their inn and it's dreamy and summer magic with amazing design all wrapped together.

Here's to next week - come what may and find the joy in it.

It's a quiet Sunday. My crew is off secretly shopping for mother's day and hanging out in the sunshine outside. I'm inside, trying to convince myself to clean something but instead I think I'll start a new book or catch up on a show.

We're six weeks out from finishing the school year and while the kids love it and masks mandates around here have been relaxing, it's still a lot and we're all dreaming of the summer that's around the corner. In the meantime, we're living for the weekends.

And here's a few things from around the web...

The best pizza in every state. We happen to live about 30 minutes away from one in Georgia and you know I added it to my must-try list!

Hilton Carter x Target. I can't wait for this new collection to drop!

That "blah" feeling you've been feeling? It has a name

But, another really good point of view on the blah and languishing.

A salsa recipe I think I'll try out this spring.

Downtown Abbey is coming out with a movie sequel and I'm already planning my solo movie date!

Happy Sunday, friends.

I'm tired, you guys. Just exhausted and finding myself waking up everyday and pep talking myself to just get through the day. It's just the season we're in this week, month, year. It's all a lot. But, I cling to the daily joys and the normalness wherever I can find it.

A new library book, ripe tomatoes to snack on, friday nights gathered around the TV watching the newest episode of WandaVision, school projects coming home, morning kisses from my babes, a stroll through the farmers market, a Target run, restocking the toilet paper basket and folding all the towels.

If you're tired too, keep hanging in there. Add up all those joyful, mundane moments of your day and use them as fuel!

And here's a few things from around the web...things that brought a smile to my face and a little joy to my soul.

Our go-to pancake recipe, as of lately. There's something about the mundane task of making pancake batter from scratch that has a spark of magic each time I do it.

And, so is this holiday bin!

A chocolate chip cookie that looks delicious.

These colored tumblers are so fun!

Did you know - Disney reuses animation?!

This instagram post hit me in such a good way.

I wish you a sunny and relaxing Sunday!

Christmas is over and we're in the weird time of the month where we don't know what day it is and the house is a mess and we're starting to think we should probably do something that resembles life and productivity again!

We let the mess sit for a couple of days. We binged watched the first season of The Mandalorian. We cooked dinner and ate on the sofa. Then, we cleaned up the mess and watched more of The Mandalorian.

The next week will be a good mix of holiday laziness and getting things in order before we leave for Florida and celebrate the kids' birthdays.

For now, here's a little something that resembles life and a few things from around the web...

A really good chocolate cake recipe! I'm going to use it for Lia's birthday cake this week.

An oral history of The Family Stone. All the feels when I watch this movie. It's probably my favorite Christmas movie. And, it was extra feel-y this year!

The kids favorite gifts from Christmas morning // Harry Potter legos & a skateboard

Smashed potatoes! A recipe I tried this week that was a hit.

15 bingeable books to read over the holiday break! I need to find my next book to read and I think I'll start with this list.

A little shelf-inspiration. We're playing around with the idea of wall-to-wall floating shelves in L's walk-in closet and this post gives me all the shelfy vibes!

A phone case loop. I got one in my stocking and I am so excited about the style!

And, Five Nice Things - a dinner game that looks like a fun way to get everyone talking more at the dinner table!

Happy Sunday!

Taylor Swifts' new album. Listen to it, then listen to it again, and embrace this holiday gift that has been dropped on our laps. It fueled me through a two-hour wait in the car and a Saturday morning full of cleaning this week!

Rom Com Your Way to Christmas Day. Yes, please! There's definitely a few of my favorites on this list with The Family Stone at the top!

A thoughtful gift guide based on self-care in the bathroom. Because self-care is 2020 in everything.

A new blog I am excited to dive into and check out. I've followed Baby Boy Bakery on Instagram for years so this should be fun!

And, a fun snow paint DIY from her blog!

And, on a totally different note, confetti holiday shortbread cookies that are finding their way to our Christmas baking day!

Lastly, a great DIY on how to create a gorgeous Christmas garland using inexpensive faux materials.

Happy Sunday, friends. We're off to Michaels for crafting supplies and finishing up The Great British Baking show.

It's December, friends! I feel like we're entering the last stretch of the year but we still can't see the finish line. So, I'm filling up the month with lots of cheery and magic and trying to learn how to take things slow and breath and let go of the "extra" and the things that make me feel heavy with anxiety.

And here's a few things from around the web... all of which have made me smile, seem do-able, or have just made me sigh with relief.

Hibachi at home! We love doing hibachi in the kitchen with our countertop griddle and wok pan but we just upgraded to a Blackstone griddle and I cannot wait to start hibachi nights in the backyard!

Our nightly read-along with the kids this month!

A gingerbread craft I'm adding to our advent calendar!

I'm starting this series of winter novels this month and I'm pretty excited about them.

Some wise words while I, and I'm sure you guys too, are struggling with the decisions we find ourselves having to make.

'Tis the season for lots of Elf on the Shelf ideas. And yes, some of them are so basic making them right up my low elf-pectations alley!

A beautifully written article by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex after experiencing her miscarriage.

Santa mugs in different skin tones. Those are currently sold out but Target has a cute alternative! Fun fact, we collect one new Santa mug every year and eventually I plan to split the collect up with the kids when they grow up and have their own homes and families.

And there we have it. I wish you a sigh of relief on this Sunday!

The internet was being glitchy on Sunday and then life did it's thing and well, now we've got Sunday links on a Tuesday.

I'm so excited for Halloween this weekend! A little touch of normalcy amidst the mess. Costumes and treats and pizza with friends. I'm here for it.

And, here's a few things from around the web...

In this weird season of life, the Best of: Parenting Around the World is such a good read!

The Great British Baking Show was never going to save us. Rest assured - we're still major fans!

Lia and I have been reading 'The Witches' every night in anticipation for this release

A pizza dough on my list to attempt.

A Hocus Pocus sequel still in talks...? Yes, please!

Myers-Briggs types of friendships. I definitely fall into the INTP (detached philosopher) category, how about you?

Short and sweet today. I have a 5 year old that wants to snuggle before his next zoom class and a lot of ground to cover between making dinner, cleaning the house, and catching up.

Happy Tuesday, friends. Make it a good one!

It's late Sunday night and we've had a delicious weekend. And by delicious I mean, it was more relaxing than the week and there were some delicious eats mixed in!

A drizzly morning was spent watching Nico play soccer and picking out Halloween costumes (here's Nico's). He turned me down pretty quickly on the homemade costume front and I may have wanted to cry like a baby in Target while being equally relieved that I didn't have to make anything. Lia's going as Hermione Granger and using things from mostly around the house! Then, we grabbed Mexican for lunch and picked up a 5-foot skeleton for the front porch.

Our girl is having a sleepover tonight so we spent the evening in the park with N and came home to bake a skillet apple pie. We're letting them playing hooky from school tomorrow and soaking in one extra day of this delicious weekend together!

And, here's a few things from around the web...

Our nightly read-along with the kids this month!

The prettiest cake on Pinterest right now.

A chicken pot pie that looks like the perfect comfort food right now.

A new season of The Bachelorette starts this week. Are you watching? Print out this bingo card and settle in!

All the details you never knew you wanted (or maybe you did!) on the Hocus Pocus houses.

Have a wonderful week friends, xo.

The Sunday Edition on a Tuesday, because that's how this week is going.

Doctor appointments, soccer games, zoom calls throughout the days, attempting to keep up with the chaos this week. It's only Tuesday and I'm ready to curl up on the sofa with a Meg Ryan movie and ignore everything. Anyone else at that point this week?

And, here's a few things from around the web...

Ruth Bader Ginsberg. An iconic woman.

The charm of The Great British Bake-Off continues!

Parenting advice that is still going strong.

Rifle Paper Co. now has puzzles and I am here for it.

And, a Fall treat to bring all the cozy vibes we need.

Here's to the next half of this week. May it bring joy and good news.

Happy Sunday, friends!

Yesterday, I brought home a small pumpkin from the grocery store and introduced L to 'You've Got Mail' and the kids are itching to decorate for Halloween!  It's mid-September and I am feeling all the Fall feels.

And, here's a few things around the web I'm loving this week...

Bottled butterbeer! It's just a shame it's only being sold in the UK.

A state-by-state guide on how to vote in the 2020 election.

Pan-banging chocolate chip cookies are going on my "to make" list!

These cookies are going on the list, too!

A fun doormat to spruce up your porch!

Frozen pizza winners! Two favorites of ours not on this list - Red Baron Thin & Crispy Pepperoni (doctored up with some frozen green peppers) and Greenwise Three Cheese.

Two simple but effective "fidget toys" that's making zoom classes for us a little easier - one | two

Here's to gearing up for our second week of virtual school. The fridge is stocked, the devices are charged, and we've had time down time to recharge this weekend. Have a great one!

Happy Sunday! It's August and I didn't realize that until the middle of the day when I saw something on Instagram. We have reached day 7 of M having covid and being quarantined. You can read some of my thoughts on that here, but it still stands that we're okay and this too shall pass.

In the meantime, I'm grabbing hold of any iota of inspiration or feel-good thing that pops in my mind and going with it. The other night it was snuggling on the sofa with my kiddos, eating popcorn and watching the newest Disney Channel movie Upside-Down Magic. Yesterday, it was putting the clean slipcovers back on our outdoor sofa and thinking about putting together a blog post on our progress back there. Thinking about it. Because, that's the energy level I'm working with right now.

And, here's a few things around the web I'm loving this week....

This daisy bracelet tutorial is giving me all the summer camp vibes. Filling up our amazon cart with supplies!

Also, this morse code bracelet DIY.

My new favorite pants. Perfect for lounging around the house, playing soccer in the backyard with the kids, or driving to pick up your (contactless!!) grocery order.

If an outfit could be an extra in a Nancy Meyers movie.

I just discovered WindowSwap and it brightened my day! Lia said "that's so cool!".  If you're feeling restless with your current view, you should totally try it.

Praline Bacon BLT Sandwiches.

Will there be a new season of The Great British Baking Show? We've got our fingers crossed!

Breonna Taylor on the cover of the Oprah Magazine. Since the start of the magazine, this is the first time that someone other than Oprah has appeared on the cover!

On my 'to-listen to' list.

Mail-in ballots. Thoughts?

Why we reach for nostalgia in times of crisis.

Enjoy this week, friends!

Hi and hello from the tail end of a very long Sunday! Well, from the tail end of a pretty long week, too. Do you start your weeks on Sundays or Mondays? My girl insists that Sundays are the start of the new week but for me, it's all about the Mondays!

I did a pretty deep pick-up of the house today, sweeping armfuls of things up and putting them back where they belonged. I did a major declutter of the house this week, too. Got the guest room cleaned out and made a couple trips to drop stuff off at local thrift stores. While there's still dust bunnies tucked in the corners and piles of laundry to catch up on, the house feels a little lighter and my brain feels a little lighter too.

And, here's a few things around the web I'm loving this week...

Making my heart and soul a little lighter - folklore by taylor swift. Her surprise drop (and this caption on Instagram) is magic.

I finished this book last night and it's so good. It made me regret not fully soaking up her time as first lady when I had the chance and it made me fall in love with the person she is. Also, inside peeks at the life of Flotus was SO SO interesting.

I had some bananas last week that were way past their time! I tried this cinnamon banana muffin recipe and it was a hit with the only 2 out of the 4 of us that like bananas.

Picked up a pair of these linen pants while shopping at Old Navy with my girl this weekend. They are pretty different from my norm, but I actually really like them! They are super soft and perfect for hanging around the house or running errands. Though, it seems like I ran all the errands today and I'm feeling like I want to switch back to more online pick-ups like we did in the beginning of quarantine. It's getting people-y out there!

Kind of excited about these soon-to-be-released bedsheets. Our guest bedroom needs a tiny pick me up and I'm loving the simple look of these.

NYC food, my favorite kind of food.

Loving this post on family rituals! So simple, but so wholesome.

A Camp Walden t-shirt. All the nostalgia!

Alright friends. I wish you a week that's a little lighter, a little brighter, and speckled with pockets of joy.

Happy Sunday! Summer feels so weird this year. It's like summer is almost over but didn't it just start? Yet I feel we've been doing "summer" forever now and also we've done n.o.t.h.i.n.g. See what I mean, weird!? But, they just announced that the start date of school is being pushed back to September 8th, so I'm determined to soak up the rest of summer (and the extra couple of weeks we're getting!).

I always thought, as a kid who got out of school in May and started back in August, that going back to school in September was so dreamy. It's probably because September is closer to the official start of fall, but kid-me thought all the other kids were so lucky.

So, I'm taking the path of joy admist this chaos. Finding pockets of joy and bits of happiness every day! Embracing the changes and the ebbs and flows that I know are coming around the corner. We're going to dive into the people and things we love and let them carry us through the days.

And, here's a few things around the web I'm loving this week...

With restaurants closed (or re-closing, like here!) and takeout options limited, hibachi at home sounds so good!

Virtual schooling looks like a serious and likely option for us this fall so I'm calling in reinforcements - fun school supplies! These cute pens are guaranteed to bring a little cheer to a virtual school day. Or, this banana pen. Who doesn't want to do math problems with that guy?

Adding these alphabet printables to our morning schedule for Nico when school starts!

Our new favorite card game and a few on our to-try list (1 and 2).

How to keep a kiddie pool clean! The DIY I have been looking for all summer!

A DIY nature mobile.

Rice krispy treats.

Transcribing anti-slavery manuscripts for the Boston Library.

What's your comfort movie? Mine are When Harry met Sally and You've Got Mail.

How's your weekend going? Find those pockets of joy, friends.

I dropped the "blogging" ball again! It's summer and it was bound to happen. But, summer is ending! Today is officially our last day of summer vacation. And, as sad as I am that summer has come to an end, I'm excited for a new start, a new year, and getting back to some solid routines.

I am feeling like those solid routines are going to include a little more consistency here, bringing in some more content, and really letting myself grow into this space. It's hard to know exactly what I want this space to do - but I am hoping to explore that more in the coming months!

Happy Sunday, friends! It's been too long since I've been around here regularly and I'm excited to share another Sunday edition with you!

We're in the middle of summer and loving it. We've basically reached the point where bedtimes are non-existent, we watch movies every day, and ice cream is a very often treat! It's nice to relax on schedules and not fill our days with running here and there and everywhere.

Of course, little signs that summer is fleeting keep showing up - back to school aisles in Target, preschool paperwork in the mail, that looming first day of school date on the calendar.

I just keep pushing it all out of my mind though and running for more pool time & popsicles!

And this weekend we're headed to Florida for some time at Disney and a little vacation! I'm going to play catch-up on the blog the next few days before things get quiet again but I'll be back! I realized that I haven't shared a Disney trip on the blog since our first trip 4 years ago and I think I need to fix that. Maybe a few Disney trip throwbacks will be in the mix? What would you like to see?

Happy Sunday! It's finally Spring and I think the cooler weather we've been having here in the south is on it's way out. The kids ask for scooter rides every evening and our counting down the days until the pool opens back up.

We've got spring break around the corner too and I'm excited!
