A WILD DAY

Friday, April 22, 2016

We took a little family adventure to the zoo for a last spring break hurrah! It was a new-to-us zoo and we all had a great time.

Nico was amazed with all of the animals and he was pretty convinced he could make his way through the glass to get to them. Lia just had fun being out together. And, she was thrilled about the treats and stuffed flamingo she left with!

It was one of the best days we've had together lately!

THE WORLD OUTSIDE

Thursday, April 21, 2016

These two spend a good part of our days looking outside. Nico watches the world with his big brown eyes and I imagine he is thinking about all the adventures he'll get into one day. Toby looks out at the world with his big brown eyes and dreams of all the squirrels and cats he wants to chase.

And I sit and hope that the spark and the wonder and the adventure-seeking is always around.

AND IT'S BACK TO THE DAILY AROUND HERE...

Sunday, April 17, 2016

Spring break ends tonight and my girl is back to school tomorrow. Part of me wants to cry because I'm going to miss her some kind of fierce and the other part is kind of ready to get back to a routine so I'm not pushing homework off to the last second and completely ignoring the house.

We spent our last day together as a family hanging out at the park, grabbing a couple rose bushes for the backyard and doing a little grocery shopping.

Here's to the last 30 school days left!

Spring break is here, finally! Rough days were happening with our gal so we're all pretty glad to have a week off from our regular routine.

We went back to our old Monday roots today and stopped in our favorite local book shop for story time then we walked over to the park afterwards. Nico is pretty much happiest when we let him loose outdoors! The kids picked out new books and we munched on macaroons.

It was kind of the best start to our week!

THESE SWEET BABES

With their brown, glittery eyes. My children.

Someone in this universe decided I was destined to belong to them. They are kind. They are loving. They are funny.

They are gracious to me, even in my worst moments. They see the beauty in the world. They see the adventure in the everyday.

Someone in this universe decided that I was destined to belong to them. And for that, I am incandescently happy.
