FAVORITE KID READS

Winter is pretty mild here! No snow days or freezing weather forces us to stay in. But, we do take advantage of the colder days that we do get. I love nothing more than spending a weekend afternoon on the sofa reading. It doesn't happen often. Most of my reading is done in the car waiting in school lines! We still squeeze in lots of reading time though and here's a few great choices to cozy up with on a cold, winter day.

1. For whimsy // Mary Poppins // Oh, Mary Poppins. We love you! This one is waiting for us at the library and I can't wait to snatch it up.

2. To stretch the brain // Here We Are // This one is pretty fitting with the lunar eclipse that just happened! Lia was very excited to stay up all night and run outside every few minutes to see the changes occur at each stage of the eclipse.

3. For your little history buff // Dream Big, Little Leader // I'm pretty excited about adding this one to our library stack!

4. For a little magic // Seraphina and the Splintered Heart // PSA: Seraphina is for older kids, babes. We recently started the series with our 9 year old and we're both hooked. Splintered heart is the 3rd book in the series (the 4th one is coming out this summer!) and it's a series you need to read in order but I feel like it's a must-read for any littles who are into magic and mystery.

5. For the Disney fan // Vampirina in the Snow // The kids met Vampirina when we spent a few days at Disney this month. They already loved the Vampirina book series and now they love the TV series too!

6. To cozy up with // Home // I'm obsessed with other people's homes! I love seeing them all. How fun is this book idea for kids to peek into other style's of homes too?

As usual, these book round-ups are a mix of books we want to read and others that have been on our shelves lately. What books are on your book shelves this season?
