One more school day until spring break, friends! The weather here is cool one day and hot the next, but there's no snow and the neighborhood pool is opening this month so there's that! Spring break is just the thing we need to hold us over until summer vacation. We don't have any big plans - L is staying with her grandparents so the rest of us will hold down the fort. I'm thinking a beach night is in order and lots of time at the park and the library. And, I'm looking forward to some extra time on my hands and filling it with some reading!

LIA RUNS FOR SCHOOL!

Is anyone else a little "eh" on the school fundraiser subject? Let's sell x amount of product to every single person you know to raise money and then do it all over again next year. I just don't get it. L goes to this really great local public school though and instead of selling cookies or wrapping paper every year to raise funds, they host a fun run. Because let's be honest, no one really wants to sell crap. It's annoying and I just don't have the time. But getting the kids to be active while raising money? I can completely get behind that!

Our girl ran all of her laps with a smile on her face and we cheered her on from the sidelines! She's proud of herself and her school can afford some new shade structures and play equipment. Win, win!

THE EASTER POST

Happy Wednesday! The weekend was great and Easter was so relaxing but I still feel like we didn't catch up on sleep. I've been yawning all day!

Lia woke up Sunday morning so excited to see if the Easter bunny stopped by and when she saw that he did, she said he did "wonderful"! Their baskets were full of the usual - some jellybeans, sidewalk chalk, and books - along with some fun little extras. L got a tamagotchi and has been obsessing over it!

We spent the entire day hanging out together, watching Star Wars, dying eggs (our favorite way is with Kool-Aid!). We went down to the river for a bit to explore and then we came home and cooked a big family dinner together.

New sandals and church flowers. Bunny ears and jelly beans. Warm sunshine and cool river breezes. Laying out their special Easter clothes. Making cookies and using all the sprinkles. Easter Sunday is a mecca for memories and moments and ours didn't disappoint. I hope yours didn't either! ❤

Happy Monday! I hope you babes had a great Easter. We had a relaxing, sugar-filled day with a small egg hunt at home and a feast (as Lia calls our fancy meals!). Then, our celebration stretched to the very end of the day for a late evening cookie making session (hence the day late post!).

THIS WEEK'S DINNERS

Last week I attempted to revive my meal-planning skills and it went surprisingly well! We stuck to our plan except for the one night I forgot we had dinner plans out with friends. All in all, it was an easy week on the dinner front!

This week we have a couple of busy nights so I'm going for simple + kid friendly meals. Anyone else have kids that are stuck in a picky eating phase? Finding meals that make everyone happy is my least favorite part of meal planning in this stage of our life. Do you have any picky kid-friendly meals that are winners?
